Like all great stories go, the foundations of a successful enterprise lays in love of it. In this case the beginning was slightly different as Raonak’s interest in poker sparks.
In 2010, a Canon 550D was bought with intention of clicking personal pictures with a higher definition. Little was Raonak aware about how this was going to define his years to come.
It was a friend’s Christmas Party. Raonak was man with the cam and also the one to have all the right lens in all the right places. Rare combination back in the day. It was a blessed start for a new hobby some may say.
Supposedly planned as a trip with friends, IPC, Goa would have been just a ‘I went. I saw’ situation. But one call to the director. An accepted proposal and we were all in for conquering.
One year into Poker business, Raonak felt a need to test how well he clicked with a more complex class of emotions and that is how it led him to capture his first ever ‘Save The Date’.
What could be a better way to start your first wedding shoot than capturing a wedding photographer himself ?! Not actually a motion picture, but Bhakti and Joy’s wedding is undoubtedly one of our priceless possessions…
Too special to melt away, ‘Frozen’ was Recall Pictures’ first Save the Date video. It might have been filmed for ‘Karan and Maithili’, but it end up marking a date on Recall’s calendar. Why you ask? Check it out yourself!
A year passed by, projects had started sliding in swiftly. But as April’s sun came around, Recall received and created its first feature and the title the most obvious choice. ‘The Golden Week’. Have a look here.
We all armoured and ready with our ideas and creativity but then came in the deadly blizzard of… *whispers* Budgets. We went 2 step front with determination and production would strike! And in these times of cold rode in our John Snow, Mithil Kotwal; Recall Pictures’ very own Producer with shiny briefcase.
The reason for this film to make it to our list of checkpoints isn’t just the unique story or the heartwarming love. The film was something that twisted Recall’s outlook wedding filming. But that wasn’t even it! This film…wait a minute, we are going chronologically. Right?
There comes a time when every company goes from ‘Personalised’ to ‘Professionalised’. We finally had a studio and Recall was now completely ready for everything professional! (With a pinch of personal love of obviously…)
It is a fancy pants way to name our first international wedding. ‘Pattaya mein Pattaya’ literally had us on toes and leaping out of our borders. Literally.
Now is when we draw a thread from the past. Recall’s first submission to the Great Indian Wedding Awards and we bagged two trophies! Any guesses on the submitted entries?
‘SS Love’ and ‘Hui Chikki Di Pinky.’
A medal that we shall wear with pride! Tryst with Varanasi was one of the very rare projects that every single one of us proudly associates with. Something that came from the roots of the Indian weddings. Something that was more about people and less about money. Want to witness? Here you go.
Something that was a different alley altogether and perhaps a start for us to begin to work on more genres. Ek Shiksha was a government campaign that we were grateful to work along with. Take a look here. Will be worth your while.
Need we explain?
